children said: I found this article very helpful. I used it with our leaders as a training session and from this we developed Group Guidelines for our Kids Ministry. I think I will have the leaders read it again this year!

As a protestant church in a Catholic country, childrens ministry ifor us is starving for materials and methods for the children of these churches. Thank you for giving me a start to organize the children so that we can teach them about our Lord and Savior! In Christ, Judy

There was lots written in it about `consequences` for misbehaviour, but I would be interested to know more specifically what these could be! Is removing a child from the class the last resort, or the logical result of ignoring the` three strikes` warning? What could be done before reaching this stage? Of course, it would help the parents face their responsibility, but how can you do that without shaming them in a small church where everyone would realise what had happened? Or would such a consequence be so effective that you would probably only have to do it once? This is not a theoretical question, as you may have realised! I`m struggling with one very disruptive 7-year-old boy in a small group (3-8). Any advice welcome.

I have 3 young men out of 10 students that ignore me, talk through the lessons, and basically challenge me to confront them or ignore them. They have been disciplined and spoken to by the Sunday School director and Superindendant, and laughed through the apology, untouched by the attempt at accountibility. Thank-you for your article. It has been helpful.
