Forget Evangelism. Forget Discipleship.

Maybe it’s time to mothball two of the church’s favorite terms: evangelism and discipleship. The current meaning of these terms has deteriorated into something far afield from the original intent. Let’s start with evangelism. For most churches, evangelism boils down to one of two activities: Lecture a roomful of people about sin and God.
